It's been sometime since I read a book that made me laugh, cry, mad, and yell out lout at the charterer. This book did that with each page I turned. There's not one character in this book that I didn't hold some type of emotion for, the book was well written the flow was smooth as a newly paved road. Pumpkin was a girl that didn't have all she needed but she took her circumstances and made a better way along that way she meets a young boss by the name Sharif...who I adore. When pumpkin came up so did her family. TEAMSHARIF!!!Kita is Pumpkin hustling buddy who's dealing with her own unfair situation her own mother placed her in but like her friend Pumpkin, Kita meets her own knight and shinning amour name Quon. Quon makes life for Kita a lot easier and her problem disappear.
Samir is loyal to his boss Sharif, any problems and Samir made them disappear like magic.
Triston aka Trigger is dealing with losing the most important person in his life but as the saying goes with every death there is life Trigger now have a reason to live. Some gets what's coming to them and I can't wait to find out what happens in part 2! Job well done Muffinn!!

First book that I've read by author Muffin and I really enjoyed it. I was a little confused in the beginning with all if the characters and everything that was going on but in the end it all came together. There were some parts that made me want to kill the person responsible and than other parts that had me wanting to cry. This book was filled with so many emotions. The lives of the characters seemed so realistic. The author did a good job on this one and I look forward to reading part 2.
wow to think i got this one for free it was so good i read this book in less then 3 hours i swear i felt like for every killing every scene i felt like i was right in the middle of the action it he alot for everyone to get into it had gangsta's, incest, murder, love, heartbreak, you name this story had it like take pumkin she only knew one way to help her family out and that was by selling her body but after her brithday party things seem to change from bad to good don't take my word for read it your self i promise you'll love it
OVERALL I LOVED THE BOOK AT TIMES I WAS LOST AS THE NEW PEOPLE WAS BEING INTRODUCES BUT IT WORKED OUT HOW THEY ALL TIED IN TOGETHER I LOVED THE LOVE SHARIF HAD FOR PUMPKIN IT WAS TRULY UNCONDITIONAL SOMETHING THAT IS VERY RARE TO FIND THESE DAYS. HE TRULY MADE HER HARD DAYS SEEM EASY WHILE STILL KEEPING IT GANGSTER IN THE STREETS WITH QUAN, TRIGGER & THE KREW IT WAS GREAT TO SEE THEM BEING LOW KEY THAT WAS DIFFERENT FROM THE NORMAL FLASHY STREET BUSINESS MEN AS THEMSELVES .. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME READING THIS AUTHOR WORK BUT YOU WILL BE KRAZY TO SLEEP ON HER OFF TO PART 2 ..
" North Philly's Finest" was the first book I read by Author Muffin. It did not disappoint! I can honestly say it held my attention from the very 1st page to the very last.It was very fast paced and action packed. I must forewarn you and let you know that some pretty serious subject matters are presented in this book. Author Muffin brings light to these situations in a storyline that will leave you breathless. When I began reading, it seemed that there were too many characters and I had a little bit of a hard time keeping up. As I continued reading,however, all the pieces of the puzzle fell together and I followed along with no problem.I'm looking forward to reading more from this author!

I really enjoyed reading part 1 of this book. I thought that the author did a really good job introducing the main characters and the supporting characters, although I am still unsure of what role some of the supporting characters play. I am sure that it will be highlighted in part 2.
I love Sharif's character he seems to be a genuine guy and the fact that he doesn't judge Pumpkin for the way she hustle makes me like him. I also like Quan as well, because he seems to want to settle down with Kita and make an honest person out of her.
I love the way that the author vividly paints a picture of each detail, some things I even cringed at. I love when I can have that mental picture!!
I can't wait to get started on part 2 to see what happens next
I think author Muffin definitely got next!
NPF is the first series I have read by this author and let me just say I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!! Quan and his family had Philly on lock with the drug game. Based in North Philly they controlled all things that moved in the city! One of the main characters Pumpkin was descripted in a way that if you were to walk out side along any strip you would see a Pumpkin. I was proud of how Pumpkin's father was descripted in the book he did what he had to do in order to provide for him an his family after his junkie wife was forced to leave the home because of drug abuse. Muffinn touched on a lot of subjects in this series from drug dealing to child molestation. One thing I really liked was when someone was killed how their souls were either met with Angles or Deamons from hell like in the movie Ghost (lol). I look forward to reading more from this author and I also look forward to reading part 3 of this series! Again great job Muffinn!
North Philly's Finest Part 1 by Muffin
I've never read anything by this author but I will definitely be on the look out for anything she pens. It only took a day to complete this novel. It was fast paced and it kept my interest. However, in the beginning it had quite a few characters and it took me a minute to separate them in my mind. But Author Muffin managed to bring them all together and allow you to see the whole picture. This story reminded me of a beautiful quilt. In the beginning all you see is patches but in the end the quilt maker is able to bring it all together in order for the recipient to see the end result. Suffice to say, I enjoyed this novel and I am definitely looking forward to see what's next with her. Kudos Ms. Muffin, this was a four star read!!!!
